Valentine's Melee Results

Yesterday we held our Valentine's melee at BOSC and although the weather was a bit overcast, there was nothing dull about the days' play.

23 members played 3 x 50 minute timed games and the results at the top were very close.

The winner of our very kindly donated first prize of a voucher for 2 people at The Bayleaf Indian Restaurant in Grayshott was Dave Gair who had a magnificent 3 wins +28. (Dave - if Jackie is unavailable I am happy to be your 'plus one'!)

Coming a very close second was Peter and took home £25 with his 3 wins+26.

Yann also had 3 wins +24 and won £15.

Robin won all 3 games as well and ended with +14 going home with double his entry fee.

Ken, our newest member, was the friendliest player and helped all of the above by having 3 losses -26. However, looking on the bright side, he went home with his fiver.

I believe one of the definitions of melee is 'mix up' and it's great to see that we certainly achieved that with today's results.

Many thanks to everyone who bought cakes, the proceeds will go to our Charity - Cancer Research and the remainder of the entry fees and go into club funds for use later in the year.
