About our club

History

Bordon Pétanque Club owes its existence to the bond between our community’s Conde Link Twinning Association and our French twin town, Conde-Sur-Vire in Normandy. It all began during a weekend twinning visit to Conde in 1991, where we played boules.

Inspired by this, a group of enthusiasts decided to meet regularly for recreational play upon their return. Thus, a Pétanque Club was born at The Wheatsheaf in Arford near Headley. Over the years, we’ve become Bordon Petanque Club and relocated locally several times. Today our home is at the Bordon & Oakhanger Sports Club (BOSC) sports hub.
