On Thursday 12 December, we all gathered at The Pavilion for the 3rd Bordon Petanque Club Christmas Party.

Mike was compere for the evening and wished everyone a Merry Christmas and said that we were all in for a great evening. Alison and her team of elves have worked their magic and come up with several party games. Rosemary's "Is it Wine or Water", where you paid £1 for a wrapped bottle and kept your fingers crossed that you picked a bottle of wine, boosted club funds tremendously.

By popular request Alison's newspaper game went down a treat - see pictures below and well done Sara, the overall winner (we think the carrot did it for your team) but they were all fabulous reindeers. Chris G had given each table a plate of vegetables and various bits and pieces and our instructions were to make an animal using as much as possible. As you can see, most of the animals were males! Janice's raffle went down well and it was a great opportunity to use the prizes donated for our Open which as we all know got rained off! and club funds grew even bigger. The reindeers were raced - lots of cheating went on, but then that was expected after last year's precedent was set.

Colin donned his turkey hat and was very happy to proffer his knee to those who were receiving their secret Santa gifts. Not all photographs have been published, some were sent straight to trash!

Many thanks to Dayne for making us so welcome and setting out the room so beautifully and Darius for the delicious buffet which we enjoyed all evening.

As your Webmaster is very new and still learning, please forgive the photos being in a slightly random order, she hasn't reached the "how to move images" section yet!

All in all, we had a jolly good evening and I understand plans are already afoot for more social events during 2025.
