Today, by popular request, we held our Midsummer Melee at BOSC and what a great day was had by all 30 members, The sun was shining and at 26 degrees it was pretty hot but we had all been sensible and plastered ourselves with sun block, donned hats and kept well hydrated.
As you all well know our use of this terrain terminates at the end of the month, so many of us wanted to say a fond farewell to the terrain that had served us very well for several years.
We stuck to the normal format of 4 games of 40 minutes with very necessary drink stops in between games.
4 games played, boules put away until the next time, scorecards added up, everyone rushed to the bar!

Whilst everyone enjoyed their drinks Colin totted up the scores and the results were in:-
Congratulations go to Chris T who was today's Midsummer Melee winner, .
Chris's score was 4 wins +26, James also had 4 wins +26 but was beaten into 2nd place by having a lower 'points for' score than Chris - technical stuff eh?

3rd was Dave Gair with 4 wins +23, Robin was 4th with 3 wins +27,
5th was Jackie with 3 wins +25 and in 6th place was our youngest player, playing in his first ever melee Riley 😃.
Colin L was our friendliest player and very generously gave Riley his winnings as the prizes only went to 5th place - what a chap👏.
Thanks to Tina and Robin who took these photos throughout the competition.
Our next melee will be a Millionaire's Melee - check the events on the website in the next couple of days for full details.
