About the event
On Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st May our terrain will be used for SCPA Qualifiers. This event is the first stage for qualifying to play in the Inter-Regional tournament. The second stage is the Masters competition where the qualifying 12 teams compete for squad rankings.
This is Petanque England’s biggest annual competition and is the highlight of the Petanque year for many PE members. This year it will be held at Sand Bay Holiday Village near Weston Super Mare in September. The Southern Region squad will be part of around one thousand competitors from across the UK mostly staying on site and playing on specially constructed terrains.
The tournament comprises two divisions, and within each division there is a Championship (eight teams per regional squad) and a Challenge (four teams per regional squad). Each team within a Region’s squad is ranked, and plays against equally-ranked teams from all other Region…
